Born in a Barn Studio 2026 1st 6 months in pictures

It’s been a busy year and finding time for blogging is certainly not top of my list!
Making great music and creating lasting memories absolutely is tho’ and I try to take pics of the many artists/groups/events that cross the barn threshold. So here’s a few from the 1st 6 months of 2026 inside BB Studio.
Fortunately there’s been a few changes to the facilities here too as the weather has allowed time to clean up our patio and decking zones out the back.
1st up we have The Royals who recorded just after Christmas and into the New Year with a wonderful punchy song called Worn Out - its bizarre how song titles really can be close to the bone! Super band but they are all split off to Uni now.
John and Phil have been a good few times recording all sorts of covers and original songs - John likes to bring many different guitars and makes videos of the finished songs mainly for his own entertainment. Phil is blind and plays keyboard on the studio system or uses his own and they both sing. We just have a great session every time he visits - I don’t know how we do it, but we do.
Throughout the year are many young singers making showreels and posterity recordings for events happy and sad and its always a pleasure helping with these memory makers.
Sydney was booked in for some vocal overdubbing for Vertigo Films and had a great day online with them in London - ultra fast fibre t’internet making this session easy for all.
Treacle Town have been recording a full album of material with many additional featured artists who gig at various venues they frequent. They are a rock and blues band that play all over the midlands and Wales mimicking the good the ol’ Chicago based blues scene with relative ease and a special kind of panache!
The Context are a professional show band who recorded a massive album of covers to create their showreel for attracting more work with their agents and have landed a good few successful gigs already. Singer Ali has been a solo artist for many years and she’s been in recently to start her solo album - a very versatile singer with tons of songs under her belt.
Pop Star Party runs on many weekends, entertaining kids for their birthdays throughout the year and luckily this year we’ve been able to use the refurbished outside areas a bit more as the weather has been so good generally. This year we introduced the branded mini bluetooth speaker as the prize for completing the Pop Star Puzzle at your parties and the kids love them!
Once again Emily Jane Brooks has been back to make some recordings for her forthcoming album. She’s always a pleasure to work with making singing feel so easy and it really isn’t - unless you have her kind of training! Emily is a significant part odf the D-day Darlings amongst many other things and is probably the busiest artist I know!!
Dispensable People band are in the very long process of reforming and they got out to do a little acoustic set recently - their football world cup song is still a tremendous classic and might even be helping England do so well this time round - We’re All In It Together is on Youtube
And we had Coventry’s best local kids entertainment directory owner Jess McLish of https://www.coventryrocks.co.uk/ visit recently to experience Pop Star Party first hand.

Never a dull moment at BB Studio.
